Tapered end mills feature an extended reach that gives them the versatility to machine the most complex parts. The kind of deep cavities and complex side milling operations that these tools can handle are typical to the mold and die industry, but are also quite common in many machining applications that require angled walls. Do you have a long reach application that also includes angled walls and extends into deep pockets and mold cavities? Never fear. Tapered end mills can be customized with slight angles that afford machinists the necessary strength and reach that makes them competent to handle the most complex cuts. We can give you a tool with any of the following fifteen measurements: 0.5°, 1.0°, 1.5°, 1.8°, 2°, 3°, 4°, 5°, 6°, 7°, 8°, 9°, 10°, 15°, and 20°.
Design for the Use You Need
Tapered End Mills can be milled to have a length of cut up to 10x the end diameter. This long length design is ideal for deep cavity machining. The ability to customize the tip diameter and choose between center-cutting or non-center-cutting also means that you can design a tapered end mill that perfectly fits the job for which you’re using it. You can also choose between square, corner radius, or full ball tips for different cuts and applications.
Most tapered end mills will come in the industry standard helix angle of 30°, but maybe you need some other angle for a highly specific purpose. We can do that too, so just let us know in our handy order form to the right.
